Telkom Kenya has diverted attention to the fast growing youthful market segment with a new bundled offer as it seeks new revenue sources. The company will from today offer a data, voice and SMS package designed to appeal to the younger mobile and internet users. For Sh 10 daily subscriptions, the pre-paid customers will have access to the round the clock unlimited on net calls and SMSs, 20 free off net SMSs and 10 MB data.

Operators have lately been looking to new younger users, who want to be in touch but do not have much to spend. The Orange all inclusive bundle is the first one on the market. Mickael Ghossein, Telkom Kenya CEO says the product, dubbed 'Holla' was informed by the fact that majority of youth now have access to internet enabled mobile phones, so there is need to offer a product that would target their needs and expectations. Last year, Essar Telecom introduced an all-day free calls tariff at a cost of Sh1. It also has free Facebook surfing for its young users. Safaricom on its part has a unlimited SMS subscription for Sh10 daily that is popular among younger subscribers.
