Calls on Vodafone Netherlands' network were 1.5 times higher than normal during the four days when the operator offered free traffic. Messaging traffic increased even more, the operator said. Vodafone offered free calls and SMS from 02 May to 05 May to compensate customers for the major disruption to service in early April following a fire at one of its sites. According to a report from ANP, the network handled the increased traffic with no problems. Prepaid customers were more active than postpaid during the free period.
